Since upgrading to Acrobat Pro 9 and creating a PDF of a class reunion directory, 3 of the 80+ recipients tell me that they can't open it. The most specific error message reported back to me is that a dialog saying that the file is "damaged and cannot be repaired" appears when they try to open the file. I didn't get any similar complaint about the previous file prepared with Acrobat Pro 8 and assume that everyone was able to open it OK. My current settings are compatibility with PDF 1.5, but I don't know what the settings I was using with Acrobat 8. Is there something that I should try to do differently, or do they need to download the new reader? Not knowing their abilities, I'd rather fix it on my end if possible.
I know that the error is pretty non-descriptive, but does anyone have a suggestion about what might be wrong?
Thanks!

p.s. I hope this is clear.
