I'll be doing a snail mailing to 3,000 + community newspapers over the next year as part of a "Get out the Word/Press Kit/ Release" for PostGreSQL.org (Advocacy). My way of "give back".
I would assume that any newspaper editor that chooses to include a release/story in their paper would rather avoid keystroking the text, scanning images, etc., so I was thinking that with the snail-mail would be a link to postgresql.org website with a file of type ??? so as to make it easier for their press setup and more likely they would run an article.
I am guessing that many will have limited equipment & software. If anyone would have a suggestion on file type, I would appreciate it + any other suggested formatting details to ease their setup.
I have the full Adobe CS2 + an old Quark 4.x, so I should be able to create about any type of file.
Thanks in advance. I'm clearly fuzzy on what would be best.
