This has to do with the order elements are placed in a document and how they appear to draw on screen in a PDF. I create a one page document in ID CS2 and export as a PDF for a CD opening screen. There are images, buttons with drop shadows, logos, etc. which are placed individually. When the PDF is opened they appear to redraw on screen more or less individually until the complete page is visible. I've tried using a plugin for Acrobat (6) that uses the "Replace" transition effect that I believed would basically redraw the entire page behind the scene before displaying it as one complete image. That doesn't always give me the result I was expecting and I was hoping there is something I can to in Acrobat or the source application to prevent this in the PDF so it is a "flattened" image to start with. I've tried saving the document as an EPS and placing that in ID to create the PDF but with the same results. It still occurs without drop shadows but the screen draw is faster and less noticeable. What is the best way to address this?
