I have a form which I designed in Adobe Designer 7 with which I submit data in XML format to an email address. The recipient then saves the XML file, but also desires to import the file into a MySQL or Access database (preferred), or even an Excel spreadsheet, so as to be able to see all form entries together and sort the data.
I am quite new to the use of XML & Adobe forms, but I notice when I import it into Excel that the form Name is "form1," and the actual name of the form ("TelephoneCallLog") precedes each field entry with "/TelephoneCallLog" in bold. I wish to strip the unnecessary information from the XML file when displaying the data.
How can I make the XML data database and Excel friendly? What resources would you recommend to help me learn how to prepare an attractive display of the Adobe Acrobat form XML data?
Also, when submitting the form data via the simple "Submit" button, is there a way to use data from one of the form fields to name the XML file?
Thank you, Edward
