Thanks for the responses about the "fuzzy text". I logged onto Adobe and printed a document dealing with this issue ("Troubleshooting Jagged Type 1 Font Appearance with ATM 4.0 in Windows 95"). I walked through each of the steps up to the step of deleting all fonts on system.
What I found was that the screen resolution I was using (800x600) was a part of the problem. I've now stepped up to 1024 x 768. The screen fonts are now "better". I also did a comparison between a True Type Font and a PS Font -Times New Roman and Times (using FrameMaker as the test program). It seems that what I have is as "good as it gets". With the "smooth" font option in ATM and the Anti-Alias feature working the font blends into the screen rather than the clear edge definition I was looking for (on PS fonts). However, the TT font is jagged on the edges, especially in the large point sizes. Overall the PS fonts are better, although the visual appearance of the "blending" or fading is distracting to me as I view it.
Thanks for the help.
