That is a matter of user pref I beleive in both IE and Netscape - one will get varied results in both browsers. IE likes to open a new browser window... Netscape needs to make sure the plug in is associated with .pdf or .fdf.
You are correct - it is not as strightforward as it should be. I'll do a little research and get more inf to you.
