I am trying to wrap my mind around how to use all the function in Acrobat 8 and wonder if someone could give me a little help?
We publish a newspaper and we are sending PDF to are printer for output and printing. Some of the ads we are getting from advertisers contain remnant elements that are RGB that are causing problems when the files are output on our printer's platesetter.
We tried using PitStop and that worked OK, but after getting a recommendation here that I should invest and upgrade from Acrobat 7 to 8 -- I upgraded.
I would like to convert all RBG elements to CMYK in Acrobat. I think I am doing something wrong by using the Convert to CMYK in the Preflight window as ended up with dot pattern in our black type. Also when I went to Advanced >> Print Production >> Convert Colors and selected convert to CMYK everything converted to CMYK including the black type.
My goal is to find any RGB elements convert them to CMYK and leave everything else untouched.
Any advice on what I am doing wrong and how I can correct it?
Thanks,
Andy
