Can anyone with Tagged Image File experience Help?


I've been reviewing the TIFF spec for a couple days now & cannot figure
out how to find the Page Number tag & determine the number of pages in a
multi-page tiff.

I simply read the file into a blob & parse in 2 byte words.
I can easily read the header, find the signatures 4D4D/4949 & 002A as
well as
the offset to the first IFD, but beyond that, I become lost in
trying to understand the IFD Field structure.

I guess I don't really understand the "Tag" concept, & where to find
them, then read them.

I have no need (at this point anyway) to do anything other than find the page
count of a tiff file.
