I have a QuarkXPress file on the Mac which I use to create PostScript files from, then the PS file is distilled using Acrobat Distiller 3.01. My problem is that when I change the horizontal scale of the font used - Helvetica Regular or Bold - to fit my design parameters, the distilled PDF makes the text look much thinner than it should; i.e., if I scale some words to 95% of original size, the letters look extremely narrow and don't particularly look like my screen view or film-outputted version of the file.
Can I fix the problem by changing my Distiller job options, or should I use Acrobat 4 instead? (I have been using my old Distiller 3 because of the font problems with Acrobat 4 that I've heard about.) Any suggestions would be helpful... if I can't solve the problem, I will have to adjust my entire 70-page document and make everything 100% scale.
