Ok, I generated the files directly from QuarkXpress and yes they are fairly high resolution as I also generated a catalog (Full Color) to be put on CD for distribution.
Are you saying that I should lower the rez before generating the .ps files? I don't think this will make a difference since all the images were brought down to the web optimized state at the high quality setting. [The medium quality setting was just too jaggie.]
As to what is on the pages, a few have mostly text, but all have an image in the background that acts as a border bleed all the way around. Most pages also have at least 3 to 5 images of products on them. All full color. BTW, the background image is the full page because the design element is a common background that has a white box floating just above it creating a drop shadow, where all of the product information goes.
I am on a Mac G4 running OS9.1, so I know that I have enough 'equipment' to get the job done.
