Adobe Acrobat has a universal file naming convention. Check out Technical Note # 5156, Updates to the Portable Document Format Reference Manual for the format. It's on their website. Good luck.
This is an example from Roy Christman's book (...Your Personal Consultant):

basically, it's in Unix-like format. He also recommends putting as much as possible on subfolders (./) so that you do not run into those nasty drive assignments.
On a related note: other than Framemaker and Word 6.0, does anyone know of any other applications that you can use to create original documents with the links embedded in them? I haven't used Framemaker a great deal, and I hate using Word 6.0. I've looked at both Pagemaker and Freehand, but neither one, I think, has the capability to embed postscript commands (the pdfmark in my case) in their documents. Thanks in advance.
