Cutoff print is likely because the page setup, or destination printer, was different in the original document, and in the Acrobat document. Different printers have different printable areas, so switching destination printers (Print to:) can cut off edges. Though the PM 5.0 / LaserWriter 8.x combo no longer provides the "larger print area/fewer fonts" checkbox, other printers do. In PM 5.0, look in the Print, Paper dialog to see what the printable area for the printer / PPD combo you have.
Font quality problems are likely because the font is just not a good font for screen representation (some are not), the font is not installed on the current computer and Acrobat is having to substitute a multiple master, or the size is too small. Either embed the font (in the Acrobat Print dialog, select setup, then fonts, then embed the fonts the document has; use the PM Display Pub Info addition to find out), or change the document font to something your computer has (and other computers have as well; use one of the standard 39). Font size should usually be at least 10 point if you want it screen readable, though some good fonts can go smaller. Poor spacing and dropouts at other magnification are usually indications the font is not embeded or present on the computer, and ATM cannot do an accurate job of substituting.
