Thanks, it looks from your example that I had the right AppleScript commands but just couldn't get the syntax correct. It has puzzled me since I first ever started scripting XPress with Frontier just how to work with a selection, I never managed to work it out.

I've done a lot of work with the XPress tag format, mainly converting tagged database data into something our clients can flow into XPress templates.
