Well, the production line may go like this :
a) Record with DAT
b) Digitize digitally with a DAT-player, a SPDIF cable, an AudioMedia board and SoundDesigner (it performs a file format conversion, not a digital-to-analog-to-digital process that may induce noise).
c) Resample if needed to 22.050 kHz (two factors : the minimum system requirements of the target machines, and space because 44kHz stereo files take 1O Mbytes per minute).
d) Normalize the sound level of all your files.
e) Convert to QuickTime.
f) Use the Acrobat Movie plug-in to ember the links.
g) Check the licenses and add QT 2.1 Mac (plus SoundManager 3 if the sampling rate is higher than 22.050) and a QT 2.01 Win installer on your CD.
Hope that sounds like musicke to your ears. --
