Re: was No Print Spool, now Where Print Spool?
Dear Heidi,
I assume that yuo are using Windows '95 ! ! If so:
1. You may have a temp directory on the "C" drive (C:\TEMP) 2. Win '95 also has a temp directory (Windows / Temp) 3. Win '95 also has a spool directory (Windows / Spool / Fax and Printers)
I think that we may have found the answer:
A. You have a limited amount of free space on the drive that holds Win'95 B. You are spooling out Post Script files to the printer C. Post Script files are always "humongus" in size (more so than any others) D. You have youe Spooler set to wait untill the last page is spooled before starting to print. E. I assume that you have not increased the printers on board memory.
Things to try:
1. Set the spooler to start printing as soon as the first page is spooled (that will start emptying the spooler right away and may make room for the rest of the file).
2. Start moving everything off of the partition that holds Win '95 and enlarge that partition (the latest version of "Partition Magic" from PowerQuest will handle all sizes of drives and all type of File Allocation Tables, it also includes "Magic Mover" which will move aplications from one partition to another and automatically change the address within Windows - it's fully automatic, makes changing partition sizes "a piece of cake").
I hope this helps, please keep me informed as to how things work out.
