I am using Acrobat Pro 8.0, and InDesign CS2 in Windows XP Pro, SP2. When I choose the Adobe PDF Presets list in InDesign, there are five joboptions listed, but Standard is not among them. So, I click on Define and go to the Acrobat/Settings folder and choose Standard.joboption.
But, after choosing this and going back to the pdf dialog box to create a pdf using that joboption, an error message says: "Cannot create the file. The folder may be write protected."
Yet, I can still select the other job options on the Presets list and they work fine.
I've gone to the Acrobat Settings folder and right clicked in order to change Properties to shared, etc. But, that didn't work. Then, I copied all the joboptions and put them in a new folder called Settings1 under the Acrobat folder. But, I still get the same error message.
I'm preparing a pdf for email and the web. Yet, I have special PS fonts and the photos are very good, so I don't want the Smallest file joboption. And, High Quality makes the file a lot larger than it needs to be for its intended use.
Please, can anyone help me out. What is happening here?
Thanks!
