We are changing printers for our bi-weekly tab and with the new printer we are having to establish a new production relationship.
Our old printer would, as a matter of course, run our files through Pitstop and remove any profiles that may have found their way into our PDF files.
With the new printer we sent some test files down and they ran them through their system and the proofs they output were coming out all washed-out. Finally it was determined that somewhere in our files there likely is/are some profiles embedded in some Photoshop graphics. After running the files through Pitstop to remove the profiles, the PDF files seem to proof fine.
I have a couple of questions:
>In Pitstop is there anyway to identify the problematic files that have the profiles embedded? >Is there any other way to "remove" the profiles from the PDF files other than with Pitstop? >Does Acrobat 8 preflight process to remove profiles? >Does it also exist in Acrobat 7?
Our normal work flow is to generate PS files and Distill them. We MUST do it this way to deal with the Japanese fonts we are using.
